Blaye white asparagus

Blaye asparagus is a spring vegetable, very important for the gastronomic heritage of Haute-Gironde since many generations. Today, "white queen" is cultivated by 80 producers, in about 200 ha. Its gustatory qualities are linked, in a part, to the ground specificity and the local producers try to get the IGP label (Identification Géographique Protégée).

Each year, from February to June, the entire region goes into action to pick the asparagus and during the last week-end of April, the Asparagus Feast is organized in Etauliers.
